Do I need a membership to show in Ontario?
Although you don’t require an OHJA membership to compete, you will need a membership if you want to earn points for OHJA year-end awards. You are required to have an Equestrian Canada and Ontario Equestrian Membership in order to compete in Ontario.
How do I get a membership?
You can simply download the form here and send it into Ontario Equestrian or renew online when you renew your Ontario Equestrian membership.
I didn’t join OHJA until June. Will my points from my May & June shows count?
No. Memberships will have points accrued towards OHJA Year End Awards ONLY from the date of joining. Points may not be awarded retroactively as per Equestrian Canada rules.
As an OHJA member, do I get a vote at meetings?
Individual Senior OHJA members, who have paid a membership fee for the current year, can vote at both annual and special OHJA meetings. Please refer to the Constitution & By-law #2.
How do I show my horse/pony in the name of a Barn, Business or Syndicate name?
If you wish to show your horse/pony in the name of the Barn/Farm, Business, Syndicate or Partnership, this entity and a director of this entity must also be a member of the OHJA.

The OHJA has developed a set of guidelines, detailing important information about horse showing in the Province of Ontario. This GuideBook is designed to be used as a reference and will ensure consistency throughout the year with regards to eligibility and testing requirements and will be a central reference point for judges, exhibitors, and show management, among others.
