On November 23rd, the equestrian community glittered under the chandeliers of the stunning Liberty Grand for the annual OHJA Awards Banquet. The night was filled with excitement as riders, trainers, and horses were recognized for their outstanding achievements throughout the 2024 show season.
Beyond the Ribbons: Celebrating Passion
More than just awards and ribbons, the evening celebrated the dedication, passion, and spirit that defines the OHJA community. With infectious energy, Sole Power’s DJ and Dance Troupe kept the night lively, while the candy bar overflowed with sweet treats and the exclusive OHJA hats were a hit!
Honoring Excellence
Throughout the night, volunteer members of the OHJA, including the Junior Ambassadors, took to the stage to present awards. We proudly recognized not only our top competitors but also the community that lifts them to greatness.

A Look at the Top Awards
Among the many division winners, some prestigious titles were awarded:
- Leading Hunter Trainer: Francesca Mulligan
- Leading Equitation Trainer: Taylor Mulligan
- Leading Jumper Trainer: Millar Brooke
Doug Hood High Point Equitation Award: This year’s recipient is Kyleigh Whitwell, recognized for her combined ranking in the OHJA Jumper Medal, Grand Prix Junior Medal, and the CET Medal.
Matthew Mulligan Equitation Award: Awarded to the OHJA member with the highest year-end ranking in the OHJA Jumper Medal series, Kyleigh Whitwell takes home the honor. This prestigious award also includes a $500 bursary from OHJA and a trophy generously presented by the Mulligan Family in memory of Matthew Mulligan.
Sportsmanship Award: Recognizing consistent respect towards fellow competitors, coaches, and officials, while giving back to the equestrian community, this year’s winner is Aarya Armogan. Aarya will receive a beautiful coolerette and a $300 gift card to Running Fox, courtesy of OHJA and Running Fox.
