OHJA Jumper Equitation Medal & Final

Jumper type course including a liverpool, a double and triple combination or 3 double combinations.  The following jumps will be included; wall, triple bar, skinny.

First round consists of regular jumper course with a posted jump off for second round ride off for the top 4 riders.

Both rounds will be based on jumper equitation evaluation. Second round scores to be added to first round. Total score determines winner.

Height 1.10m to 1.15m with a time allowed.

Exceeding the time allowed in round 1 will incur 1 point deduction for each commenced second over the time allowed in both rounds.  A knockdown will incur a four-point penalty.

Order of Go will be posted.

All rounds will receive an open score.

The top four (4) scores will return for additional testing determined by the judge. Riders will return for testing in reverse order of first round scores. The test will be a shortened course, with judges being encouraged to incorporate tests such as but not limited to: inside turn options, lines that allow for strides to be left out, and areas where competitors can hand gallop.  The test phase will not have a time allowed, but faults will be deducted for knockdowns as per the first-round rules.

All jumper tack permitted and no tack changes for second round. Final will be run consistent with the overall series

Results from the Final will not count towards the overall award (EC Rule G610).

Open to all Junior/Amateur riders with a current OHJA membership.

Final:

  • Open to top 20 riders in the current OHJA standings.
  • The OHJA will cover entry fee for all competitors.
  • Riders must submit an entry form to the horse show office.
  • Classes run at Ontario Gold EC sanctioned competitions at the discretion of the show venues.
  • Final – Eastern Canadian Jumper Championships
  • Ribbons to 8th

Final:

  • Ribbons to 10th
  • Medal to top 3
  • Cooler to the winner
  • Winning trainer and winning entry will each receive $500 bonus from the OHJA

The overall OHJA Jumper Medal Series Winner will be presented the Matthew Mulligan Year End Award and a $500 bursary.
